An early reconnaissance of the Maidenhead Thicket course for the latest club event revealed that a small part of the road was subject to traffic light control. The consensus of the riders was that we should run the event on the principle that any race was better than no race. In the event, the obstruction appeared to have little bearing on the race although the strong SW wind probably did. John Payne was first back to the timekeeper having caught and passed his wife to record a personal best. Joy, it transpired, had suffered a cycle computer hardware malfunction and had stopped several times to fix it. The full result is as follows:
